DARREN RYDER
Director/Principal Consultant
Darren is the director and founder of 101 Acoustics Ltd. being employed in acoustics since 2001. He holds the Institute of Acoustics (IOA) Diploma in Acoustics & Noise Control and an MSc in Applied Acoustics from the University of Derby and is a corporate (full) member of the Institute of Acoustics (MIOA). His experience includes the undertaking noise surveys and assessments to BS4142 and BS8233, entertainment noise surveys in accordance with the “pop code”, the acoustic design of; dwelling houses in accordance with Approved Document E of the Building Regulations, hospitals in accordance with HTM08-01, pubs, clubs, auditoria, recording studios, factories etc. in accordance with BS8233 and client specifications and schools in accordance with BB93.
He has previously worked for Adi Technical Ltd, Birmingham City Council, CareTech, Greaves Welsh Slate Ltd, Heart of England NHS Trust, Highbury Design, Interserve, Kerwood Property Development, Lockheed Martin UK Ltd, M.W. Construction, Matlab Architects, R.W. Twinings Ltd, The Grosvenor Estate and Warwickshire Construction and Zip World Ltd. amongst many others.

TIM SHERLOCK-BROWN
Associate Consultant
Tim holds the Institute of Acoustics (IOA) Diploma in Acoustics & Noise Control, an MSc in Applied Acoustics from the University of Derby and is a corporate (full) member of the Institute of Acoustics (MIOA). He has been interested in sound and acoustics since his early teens.
As the founder of Blue Acoustics, Tim worked for IBM as an audio specialist where he was in charge of all audio related matters for their film production department. He also spent many years working within the live events industry and is committed to providing an efficient, cost effective service through the application of his areas of expertise and regularly provides acoustic services to clients throughout the UK, in particular Birmingham, Bristol, Exeter, Devon, Dorset and Somerset covering a range of discipline such as Noise Surveys, Noise at Work Assessments, Industrial Noise Surveys, Environmental Noise Surveys, BS4142 Surveys, Residential Noise Surveys, Sound Insulation Testing, Hospital Acoustics, School Acoustics and Office Acoustics.

ANTHONY FROST
Associate Consultant
Anthony holds the Institute of Acoustics (IOA) Diploma in Acoustics & Noise Control and an MSc in Applied Acoustics from the University of Derby, is a corporate (full) member of the Institute of Acoustics (MIOA) and an Incorporated Engineer (I.Eng) registered with the Engineering Council. He has 25 years work experience in the field of acoustics working for acoustic consultancies in both the UK & Australia. He founded Sanctuary Acoustics in 2011 as an independent acoustic consultancy specialising in noise surveys for planning applications and noise at work assessments as well as general building acoustics design. His experience includes building acoustics design, sound insulation testing, and environmental noise surveys for planning applications, noise surveys for occupational noise assessments, vibration assessments and sound research. In recent years he has given guest lectures on acoustics to Music Technology students studying in the UK, Singapore and New Zealand.

NICK MEYERSCOUGH
Associate Consultant
Nick holds the Institute of Acoustics (IOA) Diploma in Acoustics & Noise Control, is a corporate (full) member of the Institute of Acoustics (MIOA) and the founder of Walnut Acoustics. He brings over two decades of experience in audio-visual system design, live events, and technical production. Having designed and delivered permanent sound installations for leading educational and corporate clients including National Grid and IChemE. Nick combines technical knowledge with creative thinking.
After studying with the Institute of Acoustics Nick established Walnut Acoustics to provide high-quality, accessible consultancy services in both environmental noise and building acoustics. In recent years Walnut Acoustics has become more focused on providing noise and acoustic consultancy services for planning applications.
